Calipari’s Latest Round of ESPN Interviews

Here are the latest interviews/discussions concerning Coach Cal. This guy is a machine, probably going to end up being the greatest PR coach in the history of college basketball.

Sunday Morning Notes

There of course has been a lot of blogs covering what is going on with MEMPHIS but trying to connect UK to the issues at hand. I am sure that if people who write blogs and even those in the local and national media actually did all of the proper research and wrote a piece without bias then this picture would not have UK or John Calipari involved. But all in all I am not concerned with what people are saying, because when you are the best you will be under constant fire. I am a huge Yankee’s fan and I have heard it for many years and even to start this season. I am no stranger to being a fan of the best team in their respective sports and being under constant fire. By the way, the Yankee’s are in first place!

Here are some blogs that I have read this morning….I hope you enjoy

Coach Cal’s Daughter Defends

As some of you might have seen yesterday Coach Cal’s daughter had some words for Pat Forde…
“from erin calapari: “Pat Forde’s hair received improper benefits of around $10,000 from Just For Men Hair Club and his hair also had someone take his SAT for him.” (I know I’m not to reveal my sources, but thank you Thomas Talbot for your brilliance)”

Coach Cal’s response today from his twitter…..
“I love my children dearly as u all know. But my daughter Erin has gotten a little over-zealous in defending her daddy’s honor.”13 minutes ago from txt

Thursday Night Post

Today has been full of news mostly bad, but there was one bright spot with an article about Meeks and how he is still open to returning to school.  Meeks said several things, but hopefully he will make the right decision for him. Today we also saw Saul Smith make comments, which were less than complimentary to UK.  Smith has always had an issue with talking too much.  I can remember when UK was getting ready to play St. Johns in the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic tournament and Omar Cook was the point guard for St. Johns.  If you look at the stats you can see who ended up with the better game.  Sometimes its better to keep your mouth shut unless you can back it up.   Smith had some comments about shutting down Cook, which inspired Cook to absolutely embarrass Smith.  He did release more about his comments today.

While watching ESPN News tonight I heard some of the funniest comments I have ever heard.  I will be in search for the full audio from the discussion.  The panel basically said that everyone cheats and the only ones who complain are the ones who are losing.  I personally do not condone cheating on academics, paying players or anything that breaks the rules that the NCAA has in place, but I would be lying if I said it never happens.

Jeff Goodman pulled out the hater card today as well, but everyone should have expected him to say something.  He is notorious for taking shots against UK and I think it makes his day when he gets the opportunity to do so.

Everyone is focused on the negative right now, and I have been fighting the urge to fall completely into all of the negativity.  We do have many bright spots right now that we should turn our focus to and let these other things take care of themselves.  The Gillispie situation will be taken care of and it will upset some and it will make others happy.  The Memphis allegations will be figured out and both Coach Cal and Memphis can go on their way.  Calipari is going to be under much scrutiny, but he seems to have a great relationship with the NCAA and has always been up front and honest with them.  That is all that matters in the end.

My positive thought for the night is…..

Patterson, Wall, Bledsoe, Orton, Cousins, Dodson, Miller, Hood and possibly Meeks.  There is always light at the end of the tunnel folks.

Saul Smith Comments

Saul Smith felt the need to say what he feels about the current issues at Memphis that at this point do not include Coach Cal. Unfortunately, everyone wants to put it on Cal.
Here is probably one of the most disliked point guards to ever play at UK….

“Bad bad day for my alma mater. The UK athletic program will never regain its true champion nature with Businessmen running it. Never, no matter how many so called blue chip players you bring in. You can’t sacrifice your integrity for success. You just can’t do it. I’m an alum and I deserve a clean-ran program, plain and simple. Period, and if anyone disagrees, you, my friend, shouldn’t support the program I played 4.”

Kind of says, “man I wish we could recruit like that.”
