In case you missed it, Coach Cal was on PTI the other day. A couple of bits of news came out of it.
First, Cal said he wanted to lose TWO more games. Well, not exactly. He said it would be perfect if the team got beat up physically and lost because of that two more times. I am not sure how you feel, but I don’t ever want to lose. I understand that losses happen and I think this team will lose eventually on the road. However, I don’t want to lose. It won’t be the end of the world though. Who knows if what Cal said was what he really wanted, a motivation tactic, or just Cal being Cal.
Secondly, Tony Kornheiser asked Cal about any intentions he had about returning to the NBA. Cal responded by saying he “Isn’t thinking in those terms right now.” He did say he might think about it if he were anywhere else other than UK that he might consider the NBA again. He said he might have the best job in all of basketball right now. He also said he doesn’t even watch the NBA unless John Wall or another one of his players is playing, and even then he “glanced” at the game. You can take that a couple of different ways. You could look at it in the light that he isn’t considering it ever. You could also take from his “right now” and that if he were anywhere else that maybe in the future he would consider it. Either way, the point is to enjoy the team and the ride UK basketball is on right now.
