With National Signing Day just over three days away, General Joker and Lieutenant Tee continue to pound the pavement and beat the bushes in search of the next Randall Cobb and Danny Trevathan. In case you haven’t figured it out yet, yes, I was once a business-to-business salesman. Cliche’s like those will always be with me, like Duke hatred and A’dia Mathies love.
Some recruiting updates:
Imani Cross chose Nebraska over Kentucky. I’m not going to lie. This one hurts. Another big, bruising, between-the-tackles running back heading to the Big Ten (plus two) isn’t all together that surprising. That being said, he sure would’ve looked great in the UK backfield. As I’ve said hundreds of time, I’m way too emotionally involved with Kentucky football. Maybe that’s why my alcholol tolerance peaks in November. Come to think of it, that’s not a “maybe”. That’s a certainty.
Cincinnati Moeller wide receiver Monty Madaris is currently on his official visit to UK. Seriously, he’s literally here. Is there a psychology professor in the house? How about some post-hypnotic suggestions to influence his love for Bluegrass and a burning desire to play with a quarterback named Maxwell? If Lieutenant Tee can lasso this 4 star receiver, I think it’s the biggest recruiting coup in this class. He’s the playmaker General Joker has repeatedly mentioned Kentucky’s offense needs. Kind off subject, doesn’t Monty Madaris sound like a Tone Loc song? “Funky Cold Madaris”? Or is it just me? Moving on…
Linebacker Khalid Henderson remains a possibility. Something tells me General Joker and defensive coordinator Rick Minter are trying to sell him on the idea of playing the “hybrid” linebacker Winston Guy excelled at. Henderson is down to Ole Miss and Kentucky. Come on now, Khalid. Did you see Ole Miss play this season? Even Kentucky beat them They were God-awful. Yes, The Grove is a great place to tailgate. Yes, the women are beautiful and the students are all quite fashionable. That doesn’t change the fact Houston Nutt (giggle, giggle, giggle) left the program a wreck.
Stayed tuned, Big Blue Nation. A LOT can happen as we approach the finish line to National Signing Day. As always, UKSI will be here giving you all the news we can. Go Joker. Go Tee. Go Big Blue.

As of last night, yes, he was coming. It surprised everyone, including his own high school coach. Everyone thought he was down to Michigan State and Cincinnati, but as of last night, Tee had talked him into an official visit this weekend. Fingers crossed, buddy. He’d be a huge pickup.
