This is my first official blog post for UK Sports Info. I feel it is only fitting to introduce myself but I’ll save that for a later post. I look forward to hearing from anyone who reads my posts. I welcome criticism and comments so please don’t be shy (I’m looking at you, Smooth). I want to get right into the important stuff…

Yesterday wast just another Monday in the life of Lexington insurance agent, spending an hour in the Joe Craft Center. I had been in the Craft Center a few times before, once on an unofficial tour by a manager (that story to come later) but I had never been on the court when the boys are shooting around. I just want to give a few of my thoughts about yesterday.

1. There are a surprising amount of random people all over the place. Not only were all the coaches but Cal still on the court after practice while Teague, Doron and Hood worked on their jumpers but there were bodies everywhere. My guess is managers, trainers, grad assistants but there must have been 20 other people in the gym.

2. I’ve seen Terrence, Micheal, and even Anthony in person before a couple times but had not seen Kyle close up. The kid is a monster. He reminds me of an alien off of Space Jam and I mean that in a good way.

3. Teague was nailing three point jumpers with little effort. I made the comment to Bryan that it must be hard for him to wear any shirts with sleeves because his biceps are WWE Wrestling big.

4. Brandon Weems has serious swag. I’ve said it 100 times but I’ll say it again, that guy is a winner.

5. Cal really doesn’t answer questions. It is more like a presidential debate. Cal knows what he wants to say and he says it no matter what question is asked.

6. Alan Cutler had on ostrich boots, this I respect.

7. The new uniforms are fantastic. I’m tired of people getting bent out of shape about them.

8. There was a very young, extremely tall, African American boy with a friend and what looked like his mother sitting in the gym watching. I could not place his face but my guess is he is some freshman future five star recruit (say that 5 times fast).

9. I didn’t get a chance to speak with Ryan but I know what my first conversation will be all about and it won’t be his high voice. Those that know me well know exactly what it will be. That post will be coming soon.

Well there is my recap of my first media day at UK. It was a surreal expierence and one that I hope to repeat many times over. I’m pretty sure the air inside the Craft Center was cleaner than any air I had ever breathed and the water from the fountain must have been shipped in from the Swiss Alps. Being a Wildcat is a birth right. Sure some people become UK fans later in life but some people like myself were born UK fans. I’ll have many more post to come so kids get ready. Just another typical Monday in the life of an insurance agent.

  1. Welcome aboard Jordan. Let’s gang up on Brian and force him to buy us all ostrich boots. We deserve it.

  2. Tony, I’m happy to be here. Speaking of footwear that reminds me of a great story about Bryan that I’ll have to blog later.

  3. Jordan I am proud of you buddy…its alright post I guess.
