UK Sports Info

I bumped into Kenny Walker tonight. It was brief, but very cool! I have also bumped into Mr. Walker at football games a couple of times and each time he has been nice and seemed to enjoy our conversations. After our discussion about his appearances on 590 WVLK immediately after the UK Basketball games last season I couldn’t help feeling small. You see, I am 6′ 3″ and about 240lbs (yeah I know I need to lose some weight), but standing next to Kenny Walker, I felt short, which is rare for me. I don’t think that the average person really thinks about how truly special college and pro athletes are and how they have a completely unique perspective on just about everything in everyday life.

Think about it. If you went out to do something as mundane as going grocery shopping at Kroger and were always stopped by strangers, you would probably look at things differently too. I am sure that Mr. Walker is use to it by now, but it amazes me every time that he actually takes to the time to have what must be a very ordinary conversation for him, but is an awesome experience for your everyday Joe such as myself. So, thank you Kenny! You touch people’s lives in little ways every day. Keep up the great work with Larry Glover on 590 WVLK (who hosts a great sports talk show at 6pm every day check out Larry’s website). With that said, let’s look at some highlights of Kenny Walker and remember what a great player he truly was!
